Meet the directors

Clinician-owned, clinician-led

Most aged care providers are run by operators. Amanah is run by two practising clinicians who still see patients, which means clinical judgement sits at the top of the business rather than three layers below it.

Director

Moustafa Raad

Podiatrist

Moustafa is a practising podiatrist and a director of Amanah Aged Care. He is also the director of Precision Podiatry Ryde, a clinic focused on foot and lower limb care across the lifespan, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based and preventative treatment.

Foot health is one of the least discussed and most consequential issues in ageing. Unmanaged diabetic feet, untreated nail and skin problems and poor footwear are a direct pathway to falls, ulceration and loss of independence. His clinical work covers diabetic foot assessment, neurological and vascular assessment, custom and prefabricated orthoses, and the everyday nail and skin care that quietly prevents far more serious problems.

That perspective shapes how Amanah plans care. When a client has diabetes or has started stumbling, feet get looked at early rather than after something has gone wrong.

Moustafa speaks English and Arabic.

Director

Abbas El-Khansa

Psychologist

I hold a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master of Professional Psychology, and I currently practise as a registered psychologist across Sydney. Through my clinical work and experience leading services in the NDIS and psycho-legal sectors, I've learned that good care begins with knowing the person: their routines, relationships, strengths, preferences and what helps them feel comfortable at home.

At Amanah, I bring that understanding to how we plan care and support our carers. A care plan should reflect the person's life, rather than expect the person to fit a standard plan. It should also make sense to the family members who are often providing care alongside us.

My psychology background helps me recognise the emotional side of ageing, including grief, changes in independence and the pressure families can feel when caring for someone they love. When concerns arise, I want families to receive clear explanations and practical steps they can use, while knowing their loved one will be treated with dignity and respect.

Abbas speaks English and Arabic.

Why this matters when you are choosing a provider

Ask any provider who owns it. In aged care the answer is often a holding company, a private equity fund or a national franchise, and the person you speak to has no authority to change anything about your care.

At Amanah the owners are clinicians who are contactable, who understand a care plan without it being translated for them, and who carry professional registration and its obligations into how the business is run. It is one of the eleven questions we think you should ask every provider you consider.

From first call to first visit

Four steps, and we do most of the work

You do not need a diagnosis, a plan number or the right words. Tell us what is happening and we will work out the rest with you.

  1. 1Talk to usCall, email or send a referral. We ask about the person, the household and what a good week looks like, not just which services you are funded for.
  2. 2Care planningWe review needs, budget and preferences together, and set out exactly which supports we would provide, on which days, at what cost.
  3. 3Matching your carerWe match a carer on language, gender preference, cultural fit and availability, then brief them properly on your household before the first visit.
  4. 4Services startSupport begins on the agreed schedule with the same carer wherever possible. We check in early, then keep checking in.
Send a referral Call 0405 789 515, email admin@amanahagedcare.com.au or use our referral page - whichever is easiest. We reply within one business day.
