About Amanah Aged Care

Entrusted with care.

Two clinicians, a service list that covers the whole care plan, and one obligation we hold ourselves to.

When families call us, they almost never lead with services. They ask who is actually coming. Whether that person will speak their mother's language. Whether they'll know why shoes come off at the door, or how to be in the room during prayer. Whether it will be the same face next Tuesday, and the Tuesday after that. That question is the whole job, and it's the one Amanah Aged Care is built to answer.

We deliver aged care across Sydney, in the home and out in the community: personal care, registered nurse clinical care, allied health, help around the house, transport, social support and respite. Underneath all of it sits the meaning of our name. An amanah is something precious placed in your keeping, and the obligation only runs one way: you return it whole. So we match carers deliberately, keep them consistent, brief them properly on what matters in your household, and hold ourselves to standards we can show you rather than simply claim. The result is an older person who stays independent, stays themselves and stays connected, at home and out in the world, and a family that stops worrying about who's at the door.

What the name commits us to

In Arabic, an amanah is a trust: something handed to you for safekeeping, with a duty to protect it and keep it safe. It is not a soft word. It carries obligation, and the obligation is one-sided. The person who accepts an amanah owes something; the person who gives it does not.

We chose it deliberately, because it describes the transaction accurately. A family handing over the care of their mother is not buying a service. They are placing something in our keeping. That framing changes what we think we owe them, and it is why consistency, matching and honest pricing are the three things we build the business around rather than the three things we mention in a brochure.

How we work

We match carers, we don't allocate them

Before a carer is assigned, we ask what language is spoken at home, whether a male or female carer is required for personal care, what the household's customs are, and what the older person actually enjoys. Then we match on those things and brief the carer before the first visit, so nobody has to explain themselves twice.

We protect consistency

The single most common complaint in aged care is a rotating cast of strangers. We work to keep the same carer with the same person, and where a regular carer is unavailable we tell you in advance rather than sending someone unannounced. For people living with dementia, this is not a comfort issue. It directly affects how much distress they experience.

We cover the whole plan

We deliver the full Support at Home service list: clinical and allied health, personal and social support, and home and daily living. Families who use us do not have to coordinate a nursing provider, an allied health provider and a domestic provider separately, and referrers do not have to split a client across three organisations.

We publish what we charge

Our unit prices are on this website, and our pricing calculator lets you model a whole quarter before you talk to us. From 1 July 2026 all Support at Home providers must publish prices, and we would rather you compare us properly than take a claim on faith.

Faith, language and culture

We support older people of all faiths and none. In practice, a large part of our work is with Muslim and Christian families in South West Sydney and the St George area, and cultural fit is operational detail rather than marketing language: whether shoes come off at the door, whether a carer should step out during prayer, whether personal care must be gender-matched, whether the shopping needs to be halal, what changes during Ramadan or Lent.

Arabic-speaking carers are available. If your household speaks another language, tell us and we will be straight with you about whether we can match it.

From first call to first visit

Four steps, and we do most of the work

You do not need a diagnosis, a plan number or the right words. Tell us what is happening and we will work out the rest with you.

  1. 1Talk to usCall, email or send a referral. We ask about the person, the household and what a good week looks like, not just which services you are funded for.
  2. 2Care planningWe review needs, budget and preferences together, and set out exactly which supports we would provide, on which days, at what cost.
  3. 3Matching your carerWe match a carer on language, gender preference, cultural fit and availability, then brief them properly on your household before the first visit.
  4. 4Services startSupport begins on the agreed schedule with the same carer wherever possible. We check in early, then keep checking in.
