Aged care in Sydney, in the home and in the community

Because care is a responsibility, not a task.

Clinician-owned aged care for older Australians across Sydney, with carers matched on language, gender preference and culture, and kept consistent, visit after visit.

amanah أمانة

noun · Arabic

A trust. Something precious placed in someone's care, with a duty to protect it and keep it safe.

Who we are

The question every family asks first

When families call us, they almost never lead with services. They ask who is actually coming. Whether that person will speak their mother's language. Whether they'll know why shoes come off at the door, or how to be in the room during prayer. Whether it will be the same face next Tuesday, and the Tuesday after that. That question is the whole job, and it's the one Amanah Aged Care is built to answer.

We deliver aged care across Sydney, in the home and out in the community: personal care, registered nurse clinical care, allied health, help around the house, transport, social support and respite. Underneath all of it sits the meaning of our name. An amanah is something precious placed in your keeping, and the obligation only runs one way: you return it whole. So we match carers deliberately, keep them consistent, brief them properly on what matters in your household, and hold ourselves to standards we can show you rather than simply claim. The result is an older person who stays independent, stays themselves and stays connected, at home and out in the world, and a family that stops worrying about who's at the door.

Clinician-owned

Amanah is owned and run by two practising clinicians, a podiatrist and a psychologist, not by an investor group. Clinical judgement sits at the top of the business, not three layers below it.

Arabic spoken here

We support families of all faiths and none, including Muslim and Christian households, and we can match Arabic-speaking carers where that matters. Modesty, prayer times, halal and fasting are part of the brief we give a carer, not an afterthought.

Who we commonly support

Presentations we see most often

Most people come to us with a situation rather than a diagnosis. These are the conditions behind the majority of our care plans. Each page explains what the condition is, what families tend to notice, how it is usually treated, and exactly where aged care makes a difference.

Where we work

Sydney-wide, with our roots in the south west

We deliver aged care right across Sydney. Our strongest presence, the suburbs where we have the deepest carer pool, the shortest travel times and the most language coverage, is South West Sydney and the St George area.

That matters more than it sounds. A carer who lives twenty minutes away can be consistent. A carer who lives an hour away eventually cannot, and consistency is the thing families notice most when it disappears.

This is not a complete list of where we work. We deliver aged care across Sydney, so if your suburb is not shown here, get in touch and we will arrange suitable supports for you.

Areas we cover closely

Each area page covers what ageing there actually involves: the homes, the transport, the nearest hospital and what families ask us for most.

From first call to first visit

Four steps, and we do most of the work

You do not need a diagnosis, a plan number or the right words. Tell us what is happening and we will work out the rest with you.

  1. 1Talk to usCall, email or send a referral. We ask about the person, the household and what a good week looks like, not just which services you are funded for.
  2. 2Care planningWe review needs, budget and preferences together, and set out exactly which supports we would provide, on which days, at what cost.
  3. 3Matching your carerWe match a carer on language, gender preference, cultural fit and availability, then brief them properly on your household before the first visit.
  4. 4Services startSupport begins on the agreed schedule with the same carer wherever possible. We check in early, then keep checking in.
